Archeologists unearthed the tomb of Prince Zhu Zhanji and his wife, Princess Wei, in 2001 to find a wealth of gold and jade artifacts. Zhu Zhanji (1411-1441), the ninth son of the Hongxi Emperor, was regent of Zhuangliang during the reign of Emperor Xuande. His tomb is mentioned in the Xingdu Chronicles and was said to be located in the Yuling mountains fourty-five miles south of Xingdu, precisely where it was discovered by archeologists.
