George M. Cohan is known primarily as the basis for his biopic starring James Cagney in Yankee Doodle Dandy. This was the first of five films Cohan made; this one-hundred-year-old poster is very scarce.

Restored onto linen, this poster was flat-folded originally. The fold wear has been restored, and the borders have received airbrushing.

A lost silent comedy, in which George M. Cohan debuted as a man who plans to seek his fortune on Broadway before surprisingly inheriting an actual fortune from his family and then losing most of the money.

This lot will be auctioned on Thursday, April 18th. The auction will begin at 9:30am PST and lots are sold sequentially via live auctioneer; tune in to the live streaming broadcast on auction day to follow the pace. Note other lots in the auction may close on April 19th.
