The Mariposa Mill was located at the head of Sevenmile Canyon, south of the Sierra Nevada Mine, and north of Virginia City. Kelley reports on it in 1862. In 1871-72, it was again known as the Mariposa Mill and was processing ore from the Hale & Norcross. [Ref: Ansari] 1) Check no. 263, issued in 1870 to William Tooney.
