Condition
Larger jug (Nelson): In good condition, save for a minute glaze chip to the tip of the spout. Some of the coloured enamels in the portrait have misfired giving them a slightly rough appearance and these appear to have been touched-in either at the time of manufacture or at a later date. There are a few tiny flakes to the enamel on the sprig underneath the spout. Otherwise, there is typical crazing to the glaze.
Smaller jug (Duncan): There is some restoration to one side of the spout, which extends to the area below the spout on the exterior of the jug where the sprig is. This restoration does not extend all the way to the foot of the jug and also does not affect either the portrait or anchor to either side of the spout. There is a shallow area of restoration to approximately 50% of the footrim, which does not extend to the black line above the foot. Otherwise, the decoration remains well save for some typical flakes to the black line rim and edging to the handle. There is some typical minor crazing to the glaze and one short hairline crack in the glaze only visible to the interior of the jug.
Mug (Nelson):The mug is extensively restored including both handle terminals and much of the body of the mug. The base is not restored. It is not possible to determine the extent of any damage the restoration may conceal.
