Description
Ming Dynasty, finely cast bronze gilt statue of Avalokitesvara[Specifications] Height 38.8cm Width 25cm Weight 7.3kg[Details]This statue of Avalokitesvara wears a hood and a Buddha in front of his bun. He has a broad forehead and a full chin, curved eyebrows connected to his nose, a high nose and thin lips, and slightly drooping eyelids, which makes him look warm and gentle. He wears a shoulder-length patchwork robe and necklaces and bracelets. The edge of the robe is engraved with scroll patterns. The folds of the robe are simple and smooth, and naturally drape over the lotus throne. He sits in full lotus position, with his right hand in the preaching mudra in front of his chest and his left hand in the meditation mudra in front of his abdomen, holding a nectar bottle (lost). The whole statue is beautifully shaped, gorgeously decorated, gilded all over, and shiny, perfectly presenting the style of the Han-style Avalokitesvara.
