GORHAM "NORFOLK / VILLA NORFOLK" STERLING SILVER 96-PIECE FLATWARE SET, pattern designed by William C. Codman in 1904, some pieces with engraved "G" initial to handle, comprising five 7 5/8" L place forks, six 7 3/8" L place forks, 12 luncheon forks, 12 salad forks with gold-washed tines, 12 gumbo soup spoons, six teaspoons, five 5 o'clock teaspoons, eight coffee or youth spoons, two cream soup spoons, ten butter spreaders, two sugar spoons, five hollow-handled place knives, and 11 hollow-handled luncheon knives. Each with "STERLING" and maker's marks. Total weight excluding 16 hollow-handled knives: 83.695 ozt. Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, RI. First half/mid 20th century. 5 1/4" to 9 3/4" LOA.

Sold by the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley to benefit acquisition and conservation funds. Estate of Julian Wood Glass Jr. (1910-1992) of Winchester, VA; New York, NY; and Tulsa, OK.
Condition
Very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, slight bending, one or a few minute/small dents, and/or slight worn spots to raised decoration.
