Engraved frontispiece, captioned “Rakes for false Pleasures often quit their Wives...”, viii, 13-224 (i.e. 124), 12 ads pp. Early 1/2 calf over marbled boards. Rare very work on the disreputable side of London in the 18th century. This example with the humorous frontispiece depicting two married men who are dueling for "a Woman of the Town," and publisher's ads at rear.
Condition
Front hinge cracked but firm, light chipping to spine ends and other general wear. Contents clean overall, some light offsetting to title from frontis, front free endpaper detached.
