瓶銀胎，胎質細膩光亮，敞口，束頸，頸細而長，圓鼓腹，圈足。日本稱此種器頸細而修長，器腹豐滿圓鼓的器形為「鶴首瓶」。瓶外通體包覆一層鐵，質地細緻，色澤沉穩。瓶腹以金、銀象嵌鷺鷥圖，一面四隻鷺鷥矗立於於溪水中，或緊縮全身，或眺望遠方，姿態靈巧生動，溪水中幾縷細草竄出，畫面清幽；另面一隻鷺鷥展翅於水面低飛，畫面構圖富有張力。整體造型規整俊秀，璀璨的金、銀嵌於樸實鐵質，於典雅中增添光輝，甚為別緻而獨特。

鐵包銀是鐵打出中的特殊技法，先將銀鎚起成形，再依照銀瓶比例鎚起鐵，使其緊密結合，非常考驗金工師的耐力和技術。因兩種材質軟硬程度相異，薄鐵塊必須經過精細搥打及施加，方可令銀胎造型完滿，無損無凹，因此鐵包銀瓶成形難度極高，在金工史上是一門非常高深之技術，其作品存世罕見。
