Description
A George III silver christening mug, having reeded borders to rim and engraved band to mid-body, enclosing central monogram within wreath engraving. Hallmarked London 1800, possibly Alexander Field. Height 6.8cm, weight 2.2ozt (70g).
Condition Report:- Item shows some general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing.
- Rim is very misshapen.
- Central body and base shows multiple compressions and small bashes. These are especially evident to interior.
- Item is mostly bright and shiny, but is dark to some areas and would benefit from a clean.
- Maker's mark is partially obscured, but rest of hallmarks are clear and legible.
- Polish residue evident to handle.
- Seam line is visible below handle.
