Description

A mid-Victorian silver baluster mug, embossed with flowers and foliate scrolls enclosing vacant cartouche, with leaf capped scroll handle and raised on a spread foot. Hallmarked James Dixon & Son, Sheffield 1858. Height 14cm, weight 8.48ozt (263.8g).

Condition Report:

Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
A few bashes visible around the lower belly.
With further minor surface nicks and dints, including around rims.
Interior appears gilded but is also quite tarnished and dirty in places.
Seam line visible on the handle side and there look to be solder repairs along this; these seen more to the interior.
Hallmarks located to base and are clear and legible; also with a circle mark to the base.
Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
