Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. A set of 3 stone-burnished pottery bowls of near-miniature size, each with an elaborate decorative motif painted in black or black and red. Size of largest: 3.38" W x 1.8" H (8.6 cm x 4.6 cm)
Provenance: private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, USA, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000

Condition
Largest with professional repair and restoration to base, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines; most manganese deposits are modern pigment except some along interior wall, which are authentic. Smaller 2 vessels are intact save for small chips along rims. Nice pigment remains throughout. Each vessel with a previous inventory label beneath base.
