Victorian Officers' South Salopian Yeomanry Helmet. Plated steel body with gilded-brass trim. Trim is in the form of floral patterns on each visor, around the body of the helmet and running down the back side of the helmet. Large, impressive front plate with gilt floral patterns circling the regiment's insignia. Spike base has been replaced with an incorrect type (mounting holes corroborate this). Massive chin scales mounted via two large rosette bosses. Red hair plume topped with large gilded rosette. The helmet lacks the liner. Shows honest use, and with the exceptions noted, is in very good condition.
