Description
A very nice ivory cane with grapes and a shield cartouche. The walrus ivory pistol grip handle is 4 1/2” high and 1 3/4” at its widest. On the stem portion of the handle, a bunch of grapes with leaves hangs from a raised, oblong cartouche that is unmarked. It is ca 1870 (It may have originally belonged to a vintner or a wine enthusiast.). It is mounted on an ebony shaft, the overall length is 37” and the condition is very good. It is a fine, sturdy example of the type. Estimate: $650-$850
