Johann Philipp Palm (1768-1806) - German bookseller, executed on the orders of Napoleon

In very fine condition
Handwritten private letters by Palm are of enormous rarity. Here Palm writes to his wife:
‘Lieber Schatz!
Von Graf v. Taufkirchen habe ich erhalten, was ich erwartete, von Bar.(on) v. Lerchenfeld aber noch nicht. Heute Nachmittag schaffte ich die Bücher aus meinem Geölb in den Stockischen Garten, wo ich eine eigene Kammer dazu habe. Morgen früh gehe ich nach Nymphenburg…‘
The letter is in very good condition. The sheet was folded once and smoothed, thus showing some old crease marks. It is slightly browned at the outer edges. Sheet size: 25.5 x 17.5 cm.
Johann Philipp Palm (1768-1806)
Johann Philipp Palm was a bookseller in Nuremberg. In his bookstore he published the anti-Napoleon paper ‘Deutschland in seiner tiefen Erniedrigung ‘ (Germany in his deep humiliation). Therefor he was executed on 26 August 1806 in Braunau am Inn on the orders of Napoleon.
