Description

Musical Kitten in Milk Churn Automaton by Decamps, 1930s
With fur-covered head, green glass eyes, articulated pink metal tongue, aluminum 1 ½ l "Unis France" milk churn and lid, the open-spring motor playing a single air ("For He's a Jolly Good Fellow") as the kitten rises, licks his lips and then rapidly returns to the churn for more milk, height raised 9 ¼ in. (24 cm), with steel key and brass stop/start. Excellent working order. Provenance: Decamps family collection.
