Bronze. Japan, 19th century
A formally very appealingly designed bronze vase, raised on a round flaring foot, passing into a rhomboid shape; the walls decorated in a relief with taotie mask ornaments, topped of decorative abstracted patterns, further with a leiwen meander and the eight trigrams (bagua) from the „Book of Changes“, very elegant handles cast with dragon heads, black brown patina.
