Description
3rd-2nd century BC. A substantial bracelet comprising a round-section hoop and flat closure plate; the hoop with spiral-wound bands of plain and beaded wire, tubular finials and hinge-loops; the plate formed as fillets of beaded wire in a double-loop knot with onion-shaped applied pellets. 224 grams, 81mm (3 1/4"). From a pair found in the early 1900s in Greece; thence by descent to the Gares family collection.
