LUDWIG SIEBERT BOOK DEDICATED TO HANS FRANK
LUDWIG SIEBERT (1874 - 1942) Nazi politician and Bavarian prime minister from 1933-42 after being engaged in a power struggle with the Reichstatthalter of Bavaria, Franz Ritter von Epp. He also had personal orders from Hitler to look after the restoration of all castles in Germany. Fine association signed book, Wieder Erstandene Baudenkmale ("Restoration of Historical Monuments"), by Ludwig Siebert (Munich: F. Bruckmann), 1941. First limited edition no. 36 with 31 pp. of text and 60 gravure photo plates, 15 3/4" x 12 3/4", original linen cover with gold embossed cover title with the party eagle and swastika. Siebert has written a lengthy inscription on the half title page to HANS FRANK (1900-1946), Nazi occupational Governor of Poland, concluding: "Reichsminister Dr. Hans Frank in old camaraderie and friendship. Munich, Sep 2, 1941...". Tears along edge of spine and some loss at spine ends, edges of covers worn esp. at corners, some stains to covers but contents tight, fine, and bright.
