Good content Confederate soldier's letter to Virginia Sec. of State Col. G. W. Munford, 2pp. legal folio, Farmville, Va., May 25, 1863. A. D. Dickinson writes, in part: "…The law giving to soldiers the right to vote in camp provides for the appointment of com[missioner]s by the commander…Will you cause some notice to be given…on this subject…it was the intention of the Legislature to give the right of voting to every soldier where ever employed…". Very good, with a superb sheet-margin pair of five cent local print CSA Jefferson Davis (#206) stamps, unusual deep shade, with rare Farmville grid cancel.
