Description
A Late Victorian light-oak cased single fusee drum-head bracket clock, Camerer Cuss & Co., 56 New Oxford St., London, the 12-inch white Roman dial inscribed as above, the chain fusee movement with unmarked backplate, the drumhead case with sun and moon emblems beneath, the plinth base with Latin inscription 'Quod adest memento componere aequus' ('Remember to compose an impartial'), 22" wide x 19.5" high (56cm x 49.5cm).
Condition
Dial- Minor flaking, some scuffing to black numerals. Movement- Appears sound, ticking. Case- Some front to back splits and stress cracking to drum head. Edge wear to base. Pendulum but no key/winder.
