Worcester Soft Paste Porcelains Pieces 

English, ca 1751-1780. Three pieces of Dr. Wall period soft paste porcelain, two in the Fence pattern: one, a lidded mustard pot with associated spoon and lid, and one, a lid with rose bud finial, probably from a sugar bowl, unmarked. The third piece, a baluster-form cann has cobalt underglaze decoration of a Chinese woman and child, and is without a crescent mark, but has an underglaze W on the inside rim of the foot. All pieces with stamps and inventory numbers from the Burnap Collection; ht. of cann, 4.75 in., ht. of mustard pot 3.75 in., dia of lid, 3.875 in.

The Burnap Collection of English Pottery, with more than 1,300 examples of slipware, delftware and stoneware, is the most important collection of pre-industrial British pottery outside Britain. The collection, in part, was gifted to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, MO, in the early 1950s. This service was purchased from Frank and Harriet Burnap by the consignor's mother.
