Description

Very Fine Lancaster County, PA Chippendale Walnut Dower Chest, Circa. 1760-1790. Pie board molded lid, interior walnut till with secret compartment, wrought iron shaped strap hinges and jaw lock with key, shaped wrought iron key escutcheon and iron drop bail handles. Dovetailed case with two split lower lip molded dovetailed drawers and molded bracket base. This chest still retains two of the three fraktur plates glued under the lid. 27-1/2"h. x 51"w. x 23-1/2"d. Condition: Very fine, untouched, completely original condition with minor fading and stains to the original varnish. All hardware is original.
