SUBJECT: Douglas MacArthur - 1951 vintage International News Photo [Heart] of "General of the Army Douglas MacArthur pauses in his speech before the joint meeting of congress to take a sip from a glass of water. Soon after came his solem warning: "There are some who would appease Red China. They are blind. History teaches with unmistakable emphasis that appeasement but begets new and bloodier wars." Seated on the rostrum behind MacArthur is Vice President Alben Barkley. Photo was taken by Frank Jurkoski. 7x9 in., INP caption still attached. Jurkoski was a noted photojournalist.
