Description
Cyprus, Middle Bronze age and Cypro-Archaic, Ca 1500 and 700 BCE. Nice lot of two polished redware vessels. First and earliest is a redware dipper with sack-shaped body, flared rim and elongated spout. Next is a redware "target" jug with rounded base, thin rounded handle and bifurcated neck, wide flaring spout. Vessel was decorated with thin black lines and circular bull's-eyes. 4.75"W x 2.75"H (12.07 W x 6.99 H cm)
Provenance: Ex-Collection of William Dale. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
