Description
Roman Empire, Ca 2nd century CE, found near Pergamum, Turkey. A very fine pottery redware pot, wheel thrown with conical bottom, straight short neck and small sloping rim. Twin handles adorn the sides. 4.75"W x 5.38"H (12.07 W x 13.65 H cm)
Provenance: Ex-Collection of William Dale. Mr. Dale was a career diplomat stationed in Turkey in the early 1960's and acquired a vast collection of Greek, Roman and Near-Eastern treasures.
