Tibet, ca. 19th century CE. Silver ornament used in Rice Mandala Ceremony depicting the "Seven Jewels" of Buddha. The Seven Jewels of Royal Power are the accessories of the universal monarch. They represent different abilities or aids that a king must possess in order to stay in power and can be symbolically offered to the Buddha. These seven objects collectively symbolize secular power. They give the ruler knowledge, resources and power. 3"H x 2"W.
