These two black smoked vessels originate from the Colima culture, in Western Mexico, in the time from 300 BC till 300 AD. The vase-shaped vessel has a bulbous body with a round, flaring mouth rim. The front is decorated with a figure, modelled on the body. The other vessel shows a seated figure with eyes in the form of coffee beans, a big nose and slightly open mouth. It is located on a sphere, which is decorated with carved motifs. On both sides of the wall small holes are visible.
The vessels are in an age-related good condition with usual signs of wear. The height is 10.5 and 15.5 cm and the width is 9 and 10.5 cm. (lvp)
