Description
An elaborately decorated Lambayeque (Sican) bottle from Peru, ca. 700 - 1300 AD. It is 6-3/4 in (17.1cm) high and features the head of the primary deity Naymlap, flanked by a pair of birds, mounted atop the bridge handle. The front of the bridge is decorated with deeply incised step pyramid designs and a pair of typical serpent heads protrude from the base of the spouts. Intact, good mineral deposits.
