WELLINGTON KOO WELLINGTON KOO (1887-1985) Chinese diplomat; represented China at the Paris Peace Conference of 1919; served as ambassador to United States France and Great Britain; participant in founding of League of Nations and the United Nations. He served as Acting President of China (1926-27) during a period of chaos in Beijing. T.L.S. ""V. K. In part: ""…I have obtained the signature of President Yuan to the application card which you sent to me for that pure purpose…As a member of the China Society myself I would suggest that President Taft should be asked to join the Society also as an honorary member and the two Presidents of the first republic in America and the first republic in Asia be made honorary officers of the Society as well.
