This cup and saucer, made by the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory in Saint Petersburg, date back to the years 1880 and 1892. The rare exemplars come from the service of the last Tsar, Alexander III. They are decorated with the Russian two-headed eagle with crown and the Moscow municipal coat of arms.



Both pieces bear underneath the underglaze green manufacturer mark with the years ‘80’ and ‘92’ below the monogram. The gilding of the rims is slightly rubbed and the saucer shows a fine craze underneath. The two pieces are otherwise in very good condition. The saucer measures 13.5 cm in diameter.
