These two Biedermeier pieces of furniture feature a sober design typical of this time. The structured cabinet door of the cabinet is designed as front with multiple drawers and plays with the viewer's perception. The interior reveals four shelves whose height can be varied. Downstairs there is a drawer. The secretary has a front with four drawers. The hinged door opens to an interior with an open compartment in the center with one shelf flanked by columns, six small drawers with bone pulls and a wide drawer. Below the drawer a writing surface can be pulled out. Above the gable-shaped top both furniture feature a secret drawer. An elegant pair of furniture that can be wonderfully combined with classic and modern furnishings. Two keys for the bureau and one for the cabinet are enclosed.
Both pieces of furniture are in restored condition with signs of age and wear. The cabinet shows some fissures to the veneer on the front. It measures 172 x 110.5 x 53 cm. The bureau has a hole in the back wall, showing visible fissures and losses to the veneer. One escutcheon is missing, one is damaged. The horn fitting is not original. The dimensions are 168.5 x 109.5 x 53 cm. (tfa)
