Description
An early twentieth century silver salver, the circular body with central inscription, raised shaped edge and Chippendale style rim, the body raised on three scroll and hoof feet. Hallmarked Elkington & Co Ltd, Sheffield 1917. Diameter measuring 10 1/2 inches (26.5 cm), weight 21 ozt (662 grams).
Condition
The lot displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Some heavy scratching. One of the feet is bent and the salver is therefore noticeably lop-sided. The hallmarks are clear and legible. Inscription quite rubbed.
