Description
A large Apulian Greek Red-Figure skyphos, Magnia Graecia, c. 4th Century BC, one side depicting female wearing chiton and himation, holding a plate in her extended left hand, palm frond before, the opposite side featuring a nude male figure with chlamys draped over his shoulder and left arm hold a dove, ovolo borders above each scene, double lines below, palmettes and floral devices beneath the handles. H: 5 2/5 in (13.7cm). A beautiful Greek drinking cup! Ex estate of Pioneer UCLA surgeon Dr. Elmer Belt.
