This Biedermeier wall pendulum clock is a typical Viennese, so called āDachluhrā and was built around 1855. The clock features a Viennese clockwork with graham escapement and a running duration of 8 days. The enamel clock face shows Roman numbers and blue tempered steel hands. The clock face is surrounded by a fine brass lunette. The movement is driven by a brass pendulum bob, which is attached to a wooden rod, and gut strings with a large brass weight. Both pieces are visible through the glass door at the front side of the walnut wooden casing which is decorated with light inlay bandings. The clock comes with its original key winding.
The wall pendulum clock is in a good condition with only small traces of age and use. The brass weight is slightly bumped. The clockwork as well as the wooden casing were revised c. four year ago; the casing was polished during this measure. The dimensions of the clock are 90 x 26 x 13 cm (height x width x depth). The clock ran perfectly during a short-time test; but long term precision and regularity cannot be guaranteed. (cbo)
