BIZET GEORGES: (1838-1875) French Composer. Brief A.L.S., Georges Bizet, one page, 8vo, n.p. [Paris], n.d. [1866], to a friend [Jules Adenis], in French. Bizet writes a short letter to Adenis, his librettist, asking him to visit his collaborator on Thursday at 1 oÂ´clock, concluding with the instruction Â´It must be finished!Â´. A couple of minor tears to the edges not affecting the text or signature, otherwise VG Â£800-1000

Jules Adenis (1823-1900) French Dramatist and opera Librettist.
Bizet most probably refers to Jules-Henri Vernoy de Saint-Georges (1799-1875) as the collaborator to meet, and to the Opera libretto of Adenis and Saint-Georges La Jolie Fille de Perth (1866-7), a text which took time to convince the young composer and which conclusion took longer than expected. The opera ended having the highest premiereÂ´s success Bizet ever lived. â‚¬1000 - 1300
