The Ward Brothers are recognized masters of decoy and decorative bird carvings. For more than 50 years, the carving partnership of L.T. Ward & Brother of Crisfield, Maryland created waterfowl decoys and decorative bird carvings. Steve Ward (1895-1976) and Lem Ward (1896-1984) made hunting decoys until the 1950's, when collector demands for their realistic carvings prompted them to concentrate on life-sized decorative birds. The film, "Nature's Counterfeiters: Lem and Steve Ward" showcases their lives, legacy and artwork. The prestigious Ward Museum of Waterfowl Art in Salisbury, MD was established in 1976 to honor the brothers' many achievements.
