Inscribed in the cast with ‘Deutsche Bronze’ on the reverse

Very good condition
This bronze figure of a peasant is the work of a German sculptor named F. Brandt. Rendered in naturalistic shape, the peasant exudes dynamism, strength and seriousness. In particular, the detailed modeled folds of the cloths as well as the finely crafted face with a serious gaze are delightful in this massive bronze figure.
The bronze is signed in the cast on the plinth, ‘F. Brandt ’and mounted on a rectangular red and white-veined black marble base. The reverse of the plinth bears the inscription ‘Deutsche Bronze’ [German bronze]. The figure and the base are in very good condition, showing only the lightest signs of wear. The total height, including the base, is 64 cm. The figure is 53 cm in height. (cko)
