The album ‘Soul Kiss’ by Australian singer Olivia Newton-John was published in 1985. The cover shows the singer in a black and white shot by the star photographer Helmut Newton.

Condition:

The LP cover in offset printing is signed ‘Helmut Newton’ lower right in black felt pen. It is overall in good condition with only minor signs of wear and is affixed to a mat at the reverse edges. The frame is in overall good condition with an unobtrusive crack lower right and minor signs of wear. The cover measures 31.5 x 31.5 cm, the framed dimensions are 52 x 52 cm.

Helmut Newton (1920-2004)

Newton came from a wealthy Jewish family and grew up in Berlin. Since he was interested in photography early in his life, he quit school and started a traineeship at the well-known Berlin photographer studio of Yva. Shortly before World War II broke out he fled via Singapure to Australia where he lived during the war. After the war he opened up a photo studio, acquired Australian nationality and married June Brown. Since 1956 he worked for the Australian issue of Vogue. Later on he was a contributing photographer to the French, Italian, American and German Vogue and many other fashion magazines as well. He became one of the most popular and most expensive photographers of fashion, nude, portrait and advertising. (fea)
