possibly late 18th century, red, black, and white diamond checkerboard segments, central grid with stitched diamond, star, and heart motifs, with applied British flags, crossed swords, and crown elements in metallic thread, green, red, and yellow stitched piping, fringe borders, 71-1/4 x 50-1/2 in.
Provenance: Per family tradition, collection of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wyeth; gifted to Frank and Gay Fowler; Property from Historic Dean Hall Plantation, South Carolina
Note: Per family tradition, reputedly made with fabric taken from soldiers' uniforms after the Battle of Cowpens.

some losses to fringe, scattered surface lint, scattered light staining throughout, in fragile condition with a few scattered holes/losses, some lifting to piping
