Yellow bronze and hammered copper. Tibet, 19th to 1st half 20th cent.
Cylindrical form, the foot flared, cover partly domed, with spiky lotus bud. Depicted in three friezes are the script characters OM MANI PADME HUM (literally between magic syllables "om" and "hum" "jewel in lotus"). In the middle frieze are ashtamangala, the Eight Treasures, parasol, holy water vessel, conch, lotus, fish and crossed whips over a lotus. Inside the three-part table prayer wheel is a sutra roll wrapped in red silk. HEIGHT 22,8 CM
