Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima culture, ca. 500 BCE - 500 CE. Two impressive handbuilt sculptural pieces from the ancient Colima, one of the most important shaft tomb cultures of Mesoamerica. First, a rendering of a cazique sitting inside of his palace in front of a seated female. Custom stand. Measures 3 1/2" H x 3 1/2" W. Next a clay rendering of a chosa or jungle dwelling. A fascinating visual record of ancient vernacular architecture! Measurs 5 1/2"H x 4 1/2"W.
