Description
A Colt Model 1851 Navy six shot .36 caliber single action percussion cap revolver circa 1856 (serial #51893) with period by after market engraving to base of handle "B.P. Hill". Gun with five visible matching serial numbers, a 6.5" octagonal barrel inscribed to top "Address SamL Colt, New, York City." on one lines, brass bead front sight, brass trigger guard, walnut handle, and an incised naval battle scene on tondo to revolving cylinder. Overall approximately 11.75" long.Note: This gun possibly belonged to Bernard P. Hill, a Confederate Army soldier in the civil war.
