Culture: Pre-Columbian Classification: Mayan Ulua Valley , Honduras Gulf Region Date: 600 AD - 850 AD Size: 8 inches tall and 6 inches diameter Description: A large polychrome vase from the Western Honduras Gulf Region. Finely painted showing seated chieftans and heads around top register. Terraceed temples at top and painted matte designs representing rulership painted separating chiefs. A large and beautiful example. Provenance: Stanley Harding Boggs ( Ohio , United States , 1910 - San Salvador , El Salvador , 1991 ) was an American archaeologist who worked and developed the archaeology in El Salvador , and who is known as the Father of Archaeology Salvadoran. By decent to Bernal Family Collection.
