APPALACHIAN WOVEN-SPLINT BASKETS, LOT OF TWO, white oak, comprising a low footed example with upturned sides and high arched handle, and a kidney-form with wrapped double rim and arched handle. Original dry natural surfaces with mellow color. First half 20th century. 7 3/4" and 11 1/2" HOA, 8 1/2" and 11 3/4" DOA.

Provenance: From a Rockbridge Co., VA estate collection.

Condition

Very good to excellent condition, kidney example with only a couple minute losses, other with loss to rim wrap adjacent to handle.
