(lot of 2) Pre-Columbian Veracruz, Mexico attributed figural group of a howling coyote depicted on all fours and wearing an unusual but carefully rendered necklace, of fired clay with a red slip and subsequently covered by a layer either of calcification from tomb burial or stucco, of unproven authenticity and age; together with a ceramic wheeled toy (note: wheels mismatched) depicting a canine, from Veracruz but of uncertain age, 5.5"h x 8.5"w. Provenance: Deaccessioned from The California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco, CA
