JULES JACQUEMART (1837-1880) French etcher. He dedicated his career to the meticulous reproduction of Objet DArt. Being a master etcher, Jacquemart was able to capture the translucent qualities of glass and the reflective glint of silver in his work. He is still considered the best etcher in his genre. Offered here is an original etching, pulled from the original plate, from the series GEMMES ET JOYAUX DE LA COURONNE AU MUSEE DU LOUVRE. printed on fine hand laid paper with watermark and signed in the plate, published in 1886 by The Parisian Henry Barbet De Jouy, Paris, Leon Techener. The image area, which is inside the plate mark is approx. 13 x 10 in, the paper about 15 x 21 in. Fine condition - no staining or tears. Very clean.
