Description
BOHM DAVID: (1917-1992) American-born British Theoretical Physicist, involved in the Manhattan Project during World War II, despite not receiving security clearance. A good Autograph Statement Signed, David Bohm, one page, 4to, n.p., n.d. (annotated 8th March 1955). Bohm writes his answers to three questions relating to Albert Einstein, in full, '1. Einstein is without doubt the greatest of modern scientists. 2. Einstein's theory of relativity has indirectly influenced all of my research. In addition, discussions with him on the quantum theory have helped lead me to seek a new interpretation of this theory, and thus initiated my investigations into a new field. 3. He is comparable with the greatest scientists in all history. Indeed, it is doubtful that anyone else other than Newton is his equal in the importance of the work done and in the brilliance and depth of understanding that was needed to accomplish this work'. Signed at the conclusion. Neatly annotated at the head in an unidentified hand with the questions Bohm answers, including what place he assigns to Einstein in modern science, what influence he has had on Bohm's work and what place Einstein occupies in the history of world science? VGAlbert Einstein (1879-1955) German-born Theoretical Physicist, Nobel Prize winner for Physics, 1921. £200-300
