Jacob Gorgas Ephrata, Pennsylvania Chippendale Walnut Tall Case Clock. Circa 1770-1780. Broken arch pediment with floral carved rosettes, turned urn and carved flame finials, foliate raised carved central plinth, ribbon scrolls, arched side lights, reeded column supports, dentil and cove molded upper case with shell carved and lip molded pendulum door, fluted quarter columns, lambs tongue terminals, cove molded lower waist, raised lip molded turtle panel base, plain quarter columns and ogee bracket feet. Eight day movement with paint decorated dial, circular medallion reserve with house and landscape flanked by strawberry sprays, roman numeral dial with second and calendar dials, floral and bud spandrels. Signed Jacob Gorgas. 101-1/4"h. Condition: Very good, dial has minor touch up to paint, case is good with old refinish.
