Description
Pre-Columbian, Mexico, Jaina Island, ca. 500 to 700 CE. A fine mold-made terracotta rattle in the form of a proud lord with both feet firmly planted on the ground, hands at sides, facing front, wearing a substantial loin cloth with geometric decorative and long sash, a beaded pectoral and large round earspools. Remains of white pigment on surface. Size: 5.875" H (14.9 cm).
