Germany, most likely Bavaria, ca. 18th century CE. Stunning heavy wooden carving of the head of a male lion. Mouth slightly open exposing four sharp fangs, long mane flowing along each side of his majestic face. Once adorning a large house or municipal building. Size: 7" W x 13.5" H (17.8 cm x 34.3 cm)
